We have reached the Middle of the season in Fortnite and there’s so much to talk about!
Fortnite’s chapter 6 season 2 has been here for some time, bringing with it some very exciting content and received very positively by fans, but now we’ve reached the middle point of the season, and they’re bringing out the big guns. Let’s talk about everything that’s new and talk about some upcoming content, both confirmed and rumored.
If you’re just now getting into it, there might just not be time for you to complete the different passes that are currently active. Or maybe you just want to get a hold of skins that will never be in rotation again. For these reasons, I recommend Fortnite accounts for sale, they’re the best option if you want a certain ELO or skin!
Fortnite New Content
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat has arrived in Fortnite, and isn’t just skins! Let’s talk about everything new that is and soon arrives in this season of Fortnite.
The latest Fortnite update brought, among other things. 3 new areas on the map based on iconic Mortal Kombat maps:
- The Pit: A long bridge with huge stakes underneath, this area debuted in the first Mortal Kombat!
- The Living Forest: A forest with trees screaming in agony. This map debuted in Mortal Kombat 2.
- The Dead Pool: A dungeon with a thin bridge surrounded by dangerous acid. Also from Mortal Kombat 2.
These three areas are extremely nostalgic and were excellently recreated, like many of Fortnite’s crossovers, you can tell it was crafted with a lot of love for the source material.
And speaking of created with a lot of love to the source material, let’s talk a bit about the skins that arrived.
We had already seen Sub-Zero in the battle pass, with a modern and retro version, this excellent skin is reason enough to get the pass!
Now more arrived! Among them are:
- Scorpion: With the same retro style that Sub-Zero has, this wonderful skin has 3 variants, with mask, without mask and specter, in which he shows his iconic flaming skull that we have seen in several Mortal Kombat.
- Kitana: The princess of Edenia arrives in Fortnite with her Mortal Kombat 3 look. She has two variants, with and without mask.
- Raiden: The god of thunder arrived with his excellent skin that looks at home with the rest. Although this one has no variants.
You can get the whole Mortal Kombat pack for 3600 Vbucks or each skin for 1500 and each cosmetic like the pickaxe and backbling or the emote for 800 each.
The pack is called Klassic kombat and each skin specifies that it is the look of Mortal Kombat 3 so it is not crazy to think that maybe in the future we will see more of this franchise, maybe with its modern looks.
In addition to these character skins also came a pack called: “Lamborghini Countach + Scorpion & Sub-Zero Bundle” so you can represent your favorite fighting game in style for 2800 VBucks.
Now that we are done with the aesthetic stuff of Mortal Kombat, let’s talk about the two mythical weapons they brought.
- Sub-Zero’s Kombat Kit: these were already a since the start of the season, the primary attack allows you to perform a combo of quick hits and with the secondary one you slide on ice with a spear that ends with a devastating attack that pushes your opponent a good distance.
- Scorpion’s Kombat Kit: Similar to Sub-Zero’s, the primary attack is a combo, but the secondary attack allows you to throw the iconic Scorpion chain to bring the enemy to you.
New OG season
The new OG season arrived along with its new battle pass and the return of a fan favorite mode, 50v50!
As always with these new changes we return of even more weapons from Fortnite’s past season. Go ahead and give them a try!
Future Content
The Mortal Kombat crossover is great, and it was long overdue! But it’s not the only thing to be excited about.
There are rumors, leaks, and even news one can find about upcoming content.
The Walking Dead
One of the most famous and beloved zombie franchises returns to Fortnite with a new skin and bonus content!
A Skin the Negan was shown with a cell shaded look that resembles his comic book appearance, not the TV series!
Along with this skin also comes exclusive weapons for creative mode. Making me wonder if a Walking Dead specific zombie mode will maybe arrive as well.
This content is expected to arrive in Fortnite on April 4.
Sabrina Carpenter
She’s likely to be the main skin of the new festival pass! Some cosmetics and songs were found in the game’s data.
We know that at least there will be, 2 songs, 2 skins, 1 keyboard and 1 microphone. Obviously, there will be more, but this is what is confirmed one way or another.
This is expected to arrive on April 8.
Next Season
There are rumors that the next season will be Star Wars themed. There are already some hints of this if you follow the story quests in Battle Royale mode. Skins of both Jar Jar Binks, Qui-Gon Jinn and Emperor Palpatine are expected to be in the Battle Pass, although some of these may be sold in the store rather than being part of the battle pass.
With this, it is also expected that Lightsabers and blasters will return as in the other seasons when there were Star Wars events. As a Star Wars fan, I like this news quite a bit, but I wonder how the rest of the community will feel about this, considering all the content this franchise already has in the game.
In conclusion
Fortnite has always delivered when it comes to content, whether some people online like to admit it or not there’s something you cannot accuse Fortnite of doing and that is becoming stale. Always switching up the formula and brining us new modes. I trust the future is just as, if not brighter than, the present!
